Koh Samui, like the rest of Thailand’s Islands, has a special charm. The landscape is not too immense and the water is crystal clear. The view is simply sublime.
Visiting Thailand has always been high on my list, although I didn’t know what part of Thailand I was going to visit first. I knew and envisioned a paradise, after all I have seen pictures of vacations, places and food from various part of the country notably Phi Phi, Phuket center, Bangkok or the mountainous Chiangmai.
After doing a little bit of research, I discover that it is a little cousin of Phuket but I would say the better looking one.
Koh Samui is located in the golf of Thailand and boast outstanding natural beauty, excellent cusine and great shopping.
Yes the country has its negative aspects, not as developed as some of the places you been to prior but I guarantee you nothing but great time, relaxation and by the way the gastronomy here is ranked at one of the world food destinations. Koh Samui will take you to new heights: from the mania of local ingredients and tropical fruits, the natural hydration from fresh coconuts to the restaurants where the perfection before you makes of your trip a timeless memory

You will find a little bit of paradise no matter where you go. Alluring clear water, soft sands are just walking distance. It is surprising that most tourists just flock Phuket and know little about Koh Samui! When people ask me where have I been and I respond “ Koh Samui”, I get “ where the hell is that! look”
one of the strong points is the easy access to many other nearby islands. An hour and half speed boat ride and you are in Koh Tao ( Another beautiful island) and Koh Nang Yuang

Here are few reasons why you should consider Koh Samui:
- Relaxed touristy vibe
- Easy access to other island
- The famous moonlight party only 30 min away
- very friendly and safe
- Pristine and downright beautiful beaches
- great food and nightlife
- Unique attractions and sights
Koh Samui has a broad appeal to everyone, attracting budget travelers to the wealthiest ballers. Whether it is for a weekend getaway or a month backpacking you will feel right at home. From the hustle of Chaweng to the relaxed cove beach to the Fisherman’s market, it is the perfect place to enjoy a memorable holiday whether solo or in family

Koh samui Airport
I have travelled around the world in many exotic là ovation but Koh Samui airport is unlike any airport you have been to.
The airport is privately own and operated by Bangkok airways. Check ins are efficient without long queues. There are shops and restaurant available outside. The airport is pretty clean, small and cute. There is a courtesy corner full of snacks and drinks available for free to all passengers.

Fisherman’s village Bophut
A superb place to walk around. There is a beautiful beach, choice of restaurant, from street food to upscale restaurants. Don’t miss the Friday street market!! You can watch the sunset at the beach and listen to some cool live music. The only downside is the fact that the restaurants are a little pricey around that area so plan accordingly.
An awesome thing about Koh Samui is that it offers opportunity for a romantic escape. Check our the jungle restaurant while you’re there in chaweng area. You are surrounded by natural beauty. Whether you choose a resort or Air B&B you will soon find out why some find the place romantic. You can end the day watching the sunset or start one chasing waterfalls together.

Big Buddha in Koh Samui
The 12-metre seared gold Buddha is located in the northern Koh-samui and is a prominent landmark. Built in 1972, it remains one of the biggest popular attraction. He seats in the Mara posture, symbol of steadfastness, enlightenment and purity. It is a working temple after all so wear appropriate clothing when visiting.

The dive island Koh Tao is an hour and half speed boat ride. The place offers the best snorkeling and scuba diving experience in Thailand. We’ll cover Koh Tao in much details on a different blog: what to do?, restrictions of the island and more.
Have fun, be safe and make good memories!!
