Thailand’s journey begins in Koh Tao

Koh Tao

Like the rest of Thailand’s Islands, Koh Tao has a special charm. It must be from its not so immense landscape and the crystal clear water. Oh I love every bit of it. It is epic!

Visiting this place has always been high on my list, although I didn’t know what part of Thailand I was going to visit first but I knew and envisioned a paradise, a promised land for my own eyes to see. Yes the country has its negative aspects, not as developed as some of the places you been to prior but I guarantee you nothing but great time, relaxation and by the way the gastronomy here is ranked at one of the world food destinations. Koh Tao will take you to new heights: from the mania of local ingredients and tropical fruits, the natural hydration from fresh coconuts to the restaurants where the perfection before you makes of your trip a timeless memory

How to reach Koh Tao?

If you stay on the island of Koh Samui, it is about an hour and half speed boat ride. It was quite an adventure as we started the day with a rain and you can imagine the rest.. Wet and Cold to say the least. So go prepared if you are going around this time of year. On the other hand, I kind of appreciated the rain because the temperature was extremely harsh for the remainder of the stay.

Snorkeling

While on the island you can enjoy diving, snorkeling, get an up-close-and-personal look at vast mountains, white sands beach and sparkling water. But there is something you should be aware of……

Things to know prior to trip

The island of Koh Tao is secluded and bottle of water is completed prohibited on the island due to some political reasons but you can bring a glass bottle.. yeah I know.. It is what it is.. plus I will suggest you use the restroom if you can prior to embarking on that speed boat. There is only one toilet on that island for male and one for female and no running water to wash hands.. that’s right! So plan accordingly.

Don’t forget to take a nice little hike to the view point. It is totally worth it.. Enjoy and have fun
